5G-VCoM (5G Virtual Cloud Mobility) is a research project involving researchers and academia of the Instituto de Telecomunicações and the Departamento de Eletrónica, Telecomunicações e Informática, of the University of Aveiro, Portugal.

The project extends its scope towards different types of research areas and technologies, ranging form the deployment of new network-enablement technologies, to the utilization of virtualization mechanisms for the enablement of 5G and beyond-5G scenarios.

Our aim is to provide groundbreaking experimentally validated contributions and concepts, using real physical testbeds, providing important insight on the contribution potential of different technologies for 5G scenarios, with emphasis on the 5G Operator and 5G Smartcities deployments.

In addition, the project's outcomes are made available via open-source software, contributions to standardisation fora and scientific publications.
