Use Cases in Action
In this phase, we validated numerous new scenarios with our Automotive App, proving the capability to handle complex situational data and alert the driver. Through simulations, we showcased the app's ability to process and react to various road conditions, traffic situations, and environmental factors, ensuring that our system is not only functional but also practical for real-world use.
Monitored Scenarios
1. Identify Traffic Congestions
See also: UC3. View Road Map
The driver is immediately informed regarding forward traffic congestions. With this knowledge, they can knowingly modify their route to optimize travel time and minimize frustration.
2. Enter Highways (Unsafe & Safe)
See also: UC4. Receive Safe Entry/Exit Instructions
The app actively evaluates highway ramps to support the driver during fast-paced merges:
- Enter highways (unsafe): The driver receives a warning when it is unsafe to merge onto the highway.
- Enter highways (safe): The driver is explicitly notified when it's safe to proceed with the merge.
3. Emergency Vehicles
See also: UC8. View Priority Vehicle Alerts
The driver is alerted when an emergency vehicle is approaching him. This feature ensures drivers can safely give way, improving response times for emergency services.
4. Detailed Weather Information
See also: UC6. View Weather Alerts
Drivers now have access to detailed, customizable information regarding current weather conditions. Furthermore, they are automatically notified of extreme conditions detected by a nearby weather station, helping them monitor vehicle health and prioritize driving safety. Also, the user is now available to choose between OpenWeather and the real digital twin weather stations as the source of weather information.
